If you have no idea what a Single Room Occupancy (SRO) is, please check out the video titled "Types of Low Income Housing" that is located on the very first page of this blog.
Both properties are located near the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego, and they are both near the MTS San Diego Trolley (light rail).
They are both good locations if you are attending San Diego City College and you need an affordable housing set-up while you are getting your studies on... Also, if you are just relocating to San Diego, these might be ideal for you to hang for a while until you get to know the place and get a full blown apartment.
I do not live in San Diego, and I have never personally seen either of these properties. However, in my search for reviews I have found everything that ranged from the following reviews:
"OMG! This area of downtown is skid row of san diego!" to "These are actually pretty nice units for the price"

My guess is that good proof of income would be paycheck stubs or an offer letter from your current job....
Peachtree Inn San Diego SRO is located at 901 F Street, and you can call them at 619-233-1100.
As always, if you have had a positive or negative experience with either of these San Diego Single Room Occupancy locations, please leave a comment so other people who are looking for San Diego low income housing opportunities can check it out or beware.
Peace Out....
Rachelle
I am curious as to why you feel you need to recommend these two locations when you have never been to them or even walked by. You definitely wouldn't want harm or discomfort to come to people, would you? If one looks up either location one reads of severe problems with bedbugs, other disturbing aspects: Many RSOs live there ( registered sex offenders), severe drug problems inside the hotel, apparently intruding problems also. I wouldn't recommend these places at all. I appreciate that you mean well! Perhaps do some googling before next time? :)
ReplyDeleteThe entire nature of this blog is for me to post information about low income housing, and for others to comment about its condition in order to pass on realistic expectations to people who are struggling.
DeleteIf you READ the end of each post, I ask for unbiased comments about each property... I never RECOMMEND any property to anybody, I post the info, people make comments, and people who are seeking low income housing can make their own judgments based on the comments and info I have provided....
Next time, try reading the entire post, and you will understand the nature of this blog.
Thank YOU Rachelle!!!! So informative and was not aware. I've been searching on what to do to help my friend who has been homeless and now another friend, both on very limited income. So, your above inservice has educated me and now I will go to your blogspot to further my research to help them out. Bless you and thanks so much. Sincerely, Janna :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it is a very strong proof that San Diego is really a nice place if you are looking for low income housing, actually in this post you can get all that you need in regards of info.
ReplyDeletePeachtree Inn. Is under new management which is solving the problems. So don't judge until you visit the Peachtree Inn.
ReplyDeleteBoth locations are now run by Barker Management Inc.. Slumlord at its finest. Dennis the manager at trolley court spends majority of his time texting and being absent as do his crooked clerk desk worker. Pest control is a joke the showers all but 5 throughout motel r working the rest have been locked for 6+ months and ones open pipes exposed mold debris etc visible. Sadly when on fixed income this is what one endures here. I strongly suggest being homeless probably more perks than this location.
ReplyDeleteWhat's really going on living at @Peachtree Inn?
ReplyDeleteYour truths are the most importance to me in making a careful decision so your honesty will be gladly appreciated.
If you are willing to help me, then reply most urgently cause I will be making an in-person check sometime today.
I am a Christian and only expect the facts that's all.
